We were awarded the construction management contract for Manulife House, a new 28-storey (69,700 m2) skyscraper located on an former parking lot in the middle of Montreal's business district.
This building can accommodate nearly 3,000 workers in more than 44,130 m2 of premium office space on 21 floors. Each floor has an approximate surface area of 2,230 m2.
The seven lower floors of the skyscraper, which are made of concrete, house a 360-space, above-ground parking lot. The upper floors are made of steel with a concrete core.
The project’s architectural focal point is the majestic three-storey glass and steel winter garden located in the main entrance on De Maisonneuve Boulevard West. The eighth floor also offers unique common spaces, including a lounge and conference centre connected to an outdoor terrace.
Our efficient planning of the office layout and mechanical systems allowed us to reduce construction costs without compromising occupant comfort or air quality.
In 2018, Manulife House became the first building in Montreal to be awarded the designation of Wired Certified Platinum by WiredScore, international certification system that rates the capacity and resilience of buildings.
We completed the project successfully, despite limited worksite space and considerable downtown Montreal traffic.
