Our team was awarded the construction management contract for the construction of a state-of-the-art amphitheatre: the Videotron Centre in Quebec City.
The centre, designed for on-ice activities and other major events, represents the largest public investment in Quebec City’s history.
Our team completed this highly-complex mandate on time and on budget, fulfilling every requirement.
In order to highlight Quebec's expertise in wood construction, the building envelope is supported by a glulam structure.
In addition, this was our first project based on BIM (Building Information Modelling) technology, a process that helps construction professionals be more collaborative, better coordinate their teams and keep their project schedules on track.
We delivered the project on time and on budget despite its complexity and a fast-paced work environment, effectively dividing the mandate into 45 work packages.
We tackled many challenges, including extensive site and delivery logistics, the on-site presence of public services, and the coordination of numerous internal and external stakeholders (such as the City of Quebec, Quebecor, ExpoCité, and the media).
There was intense pressure on our team to successfully complete this large-scale, high-profile project critical to regional economic development.
We relied on our attention to detail and soil management know-how to decontaminate the soil.
