Airports, subways, railways, highways, and road construction—there is nothing our team hasn’t done.
Whether it's commuting to work, visiting family, restocking goods at a supermarket, or going to the hospital, transportation systems and mobility solutions play a crucial role in driving economic growth, fostering connection, and safeguarding health and safety.
Backed by decades of construction experience, you can rely on our specialized team to deliver complex transportation infrastructure with precision and expert execution.
At Pomerleau, we strive to build transformative infrastructure that enables connectivity for a better future and a stronger, more united community.
There are three main categories of transportation infrastructure and each plays a crucial role in shaping the economy across industries as well as in supporting the community in every way.
Key players in the economy, they enable the smooth transport of goods and people, which impacts many trades and industries like retail, agriculture, manufacturing, tourism, healthcare, and more.
Linking cities and countries and transporting people and cargo by air, airports serve as a pillar for international trade, tourism, and business opportunities.
Vital for urban landscapes, subways offer efficient and cost-effective public transport, reducing traffic congestion and supporting sustainability.
Transportation infrastructure projects come with unique challenges, from traffic management to aging infrastructure and rigorous sustainability requirements. Our team has decades of experience tackling these challenges, managing complex construction projects, and delivering successful results.
Every road project requires strategic traffic management to ensure safety for workers and the public. Aging infrastructure often calls for major rehabilitation with minimal environmental impact and strict regulatory compliance. Projects must stay on budget and schedule despite fluctuating costs, supply chain issues, and weather, all while coordinating with multiple stakeholders.
Airport construction is complex, requiring careful planning to maintain essential operations during work. Teams must meet strict aviation regulations and manage critical infrastructure with precision. Specialized expertise ensures the seamless integration of systems into a fully functional, turnkey facility.
Transit projects demand integration with existing infrastructure and mastery of technical systems like signaling and electrical networks. Safety is paramount, and subway work adds complexity with underground conditions, requiring experienced teams to manage risks and limit disruptions.
We have experience tackling all aspects of transportation construction—from building durable roadways to constructing complex bridges and tunnels and implementing advanced public transit systems. Safety excellence and regulatory compliance are at the core of our integrated services, so you can rest assured that all transportation infrastructure is built to be safe, long-lasting, and of the highest quality.
We take pride in our seamless delivery—on time and on budget—providing you with peace of mind and exceptional results.
At Pomerleau, we are committed to building a more sustainable future, one construction job at a time.
From start to finish, our construction company works closely with clients and partners to lower GHG emissions, reduce our carbon footprint, and take proactive steps to mitigate environmental impact.
All our transportation construction projects are designed with efficiency and sustainability in mind, implement an Environmental Management System (EMS), and adhere to environmental regulations and Envision certification standards.
We don't just build transportation infrastructure—we create lasting benefits for the community and for generations to come.
Our portfolio speaks for itself, showcasing our success in delivering some of Canada's most challenging and impactful transportation infrastructure projects—solving problems and exceeding client expectations along the way.
One key project is the REM light rail network in Montreal, which includes 67 km of double tracks, 26 stations, 11 bus terminals, 6.5 km of tunnels, and many other buildings, making it one of the longest automated metro lines in the world, after the Vancouver SkyTrain and Dubai Metro.
Another construction success is the 12 km extension of the Trillium Line in Ottawa, featuring 8 new stations—3 on elevated guideways—along with many renovations, relocations, improvements, and new builds, like underground pedestrian crossings, tunnels, water infrastructure, and signal and train control systems.
We've also had the opportunity to contribute to the construction of the Bellechasse Transportation Center for the Société de transport de Montréal (STM), North America's first entirely underground transportation center. This large-scale project involved site preparation, demolition, soil decontamination, rock excavation, water management, and complex logistics, culminating in the creation of a building equipped with underground parking, maintenance facilities, and administrative spaces.
