For the health and safety of all

At Pomerleau, nothing is more important than the health and safety of our employees, clients, partners, and the general public. We make no compromises on our worksites and take the time and the necessary measures to do things right.

We have a unique H&S management structure that includes more than a hundred H&S specialists across Canada.

In addition to a health and safety advisor assigned full-time on most of our sites, a team of about 10 H&S coordinators regularly conducts audits and also acts as advisors for our internal resources and our partners.

H&S is a top priority at Pomerleau, so we integrate these principles at all levels of the organization and require everyone’s cooperation at all times. No exceptions.

Training and support

At Pomerleau, H&S training is essential. Our PX3 training centre allows us to offer unique training sessions personalized to our staff.

We believe in leadership when it comes to safety. That’s why we offer H&S Leadership training to all our supervisors, which aims to reduce injuries and teaches personal accountability in terms of safety. In fact, all managers in the company must follow a certain training matrix, depending on their role, which includes an H&S Leadership training session.

Furthermore, all H&S staff members hold a professional health and safety designation that is recognized by local authorities. Orientation training specific to each site is given to all workers. Special training may be offered for specific types of work (like control of nosocomial infections in hospitals, for example).

External audits are conducted every year on some of our sites, in addition to internal verifications performed at critical moments in a project.
