At Pomerleau, building isn't just about infrastructure. We believe our role is also to strengthen the social fabric and support the communities where we work. In the Atlantic, we are multiplying initiatives that reflect this commitment, uniting our employees, partners, and clients around causes that matter.
In Saint John, New Brunswick, we partnered with the Heart and Stroke Foundation of New Brunswick (Heart & Stroke NB) to offer training on the use of automated external defibrillators (AEDs) and first aid, held at the University of New Brunswick's Health and Social Innovation Centre construction site.
Thanks to the generosity of our subcontractors and partners, we raised over $3,000 to support heart health research and awareness. This effort is part of a process that began in the fall of 2023, when we decided to equip all our construction sites with AEDs after an incident demonstrated their vital importance. We know that an AED can save a life, and we have made this tool a staple on our sites.
On September 11, 2025, we brought together over 150 participants from the construction industry at the Granite Springs Golf Club in Bayside, Nova Scotia, for the second edition of our Atlantic charity golf tournament.
Together, we raised over $90,000 for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Canada (LLSC). This event is particularly close to our hearts, as it is led by Warren Dietrich, our project manager and Hodgkin's lymphoma survivor.
“This tournament is more than a sporting event—it’s a testament to what we can achieve when we unite around a shared purpose. I’m humbled by the generosity of our construction community and proud of the legacy we’re building together for those affected by blood cancers,” said Warren Dietrich.
For Lorin Robar, Atlantic Regional Vice President, this event perfectly illustrates the strength of the collective: “This event exemplifies the spirit of collaboration and compassion that defines our Pomerleau Atlantic team. Seeing our industry partners rally together to support the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Canada is a powerful reminder of the impact we can have beyond the jobsite. I’m incredibly proud of the organizing committee for turning this event into a regional tradition of generosity and hope.”
In Halifax, Nova Scotia, we are privileged to support The Great Big Dig, a flagship philanthropic event in the region, for the sixth consecutive year. On November 15, this festive evening will raise more than $1.1 million for the IWK Health Centre, a specialized hospital for women and children.
These funds will be used to finance the acquisition of the O-Arm, a cutting-edge surgical imaging system that improves the safety and precision of pediatric orthopedic procedures. We are proud to contribute to this medical advancement that will change lives throughout the region.
These initiatives remind us that our role goes beyond the construction of buildings or infrastructure. They provide us with an opportunity to build bonds of solidarity with the communities, support causes we care about, and participate, with our partners, in actions that make a difference.
In the Atlantic provinces and elsewhere, Pomerleau is proud to take part in initiatives that contribute to building stronger, healthier, and more resilient communities.
