Launch of our 2024 sustainable development report

2024 ESG Report from Pomerleau: Building a sustainable future

In 2024, Pomerleau reached several key milestones on its journey toward a more sustainable, inclusive, and responsible future. Our new sustainability report reflects our commitment to taking concrete action to transform our industry through innovation, collaboration, and the dedication of our teams.

A First Reduction in Our GHG Emissions

For the first time, we successfully reduced our Scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, despite continued growth in our operations. This 15% reduction is the result of key initiatives such as the Heat Better Challenge, which now requires the use of smart temporary heating units on all our building projects. It is also driven by the gradual electrification of our vehicle fleet—starting with the purchase of 41 electric vehicles—and the completion of 185 sustainable projects over nearly 60 years, which in 2024 accounted for 70% of our revenue.

Health and Safety: Remarkable Results

Our commitment to health and safety also led to outstanding outcomes. We recorded a 78% decrease in the frequency of serious injuries or fatalities (SIF). This improvement is supported by 47,000 hours of occupational health and safety training provided to our teams, as well as the launch of the Bâtisseur program, designed to strengthen safety leadership on job sites.

Indigenous Relations: Concrete Partnerships

In terms of Indigenous relations, our action-based reconciliation approach gained momentum. We invested $18.5 million in procurement from Indigenous businesses and included Indigenous participation plans in 20 projects. Additionally, we created Cheno, our first majority-Indigenous joint venture, in partnership with the Cree Nation of Mistissini.
