It has now been over two years since SPOT, the robot dog from Boston Dynamics, joined our large family and the Innovation group has been working and exploring different avenues to maximize its use.

The aXLab team is very happy to share with you the progress of the work done over the past few months and today announces with great pride that a new feature has been added to the SPOT curriculum.

Indeed, in addition to the capture of data by 360 photos, SPOT now has the ability to capture reality using a laser scan, and this, independently. By using the Leica RTC360 laser scanner on SPOT rather than a 360 camera, the tedious and repetitive data collection process is now very precise and very fast. This integration, made possible thanks to the work of the members of the robotics research axis team, is now functional and ready for use on our construction sites.
