Expansion & development

With great precision and an attention to detail, we expanded and redeveloped the 1,858-m² control house at the Bersimis 1 Hydroelectric Generating Station, building a concrete structure between the existing building and the nearby cliff.

The work was done in stages to facilitate the relocation of personnel and, most importantly, prevent any disruption to the building's primary function: power distribution.

Our team performed the following work:

  • Demolishing walls and ceilings
  • Removing asbestos from the ventilation ducts
  • Modifying the air distribution system
  • Replacing the ventilation system
  • Changing the lighting system
  • Rebuilding ceilings
  • Upgrading of the flooring
  • Building and fitting out new sections

Our challenge

Blasting with extreme caution

We blasted rock, keeping vibrations to a minimum to prevent damage to the station’s existing infrastructure and electrical equipment.
