ESG Rewind: A Recap of the Last Three Months

Building

Our Environment, Social and Governance (ESG) strategy is gaining momentum. The actions we are taking now are impacting our future. Over the last few months, we have been recognized as one of Canada’ Greenest Employers, hosted a Health and Safety Week, announced our commitment to the Progressive Aboriginal Relations (PAR certification), released our Performance Summary, participated in several volunteer events and celebrated Pride month.

April: Canada’s Greenest Employer

Since we formalized our Environment, Social and Governance (ESG) strategy in 2022, we have been implementing concrete solutions to achieve the goals we outlined in our ESG reports. In April, we were recognized as one of Canada’s Greenest Employers for the first time. Achieving these milestones requires collaboration and buy-in from our employees, partners and clients from coast-to-coast, who prioritize the environmental protection of our sites and surrounding communities, and to those that strive to make our offices more sustainable every day.

May: Health and Safety Week

To recognize the precautions our employees take on-site every day to ensure they and their peers are safe, we hosted a Health and Safety week. Guided by the mantra, People Above All, we highlighted our health and safety initiatives, including the introduction of our new innovative helmets.

June: Launch of the 2023 Performance Summary

We released our first Environment, Social and Governance (ESG) report in 2022. Since then, we have been sharing our progress and communicating solutions with all those who, like us, want to build engaged, inclusive and innovative communities. On World Environment Day, we shared the results of 2023, which saw the implementation of new initiatives and achievement of previously set goals.

June: Pride Month

In partnership with ENSEMBLE, we hosted a national conference titled, Pride Month: Understanding the 2SLGBTQI+ Community and How to Be an Ally, on June 27th. The conference was an opportunity for employees to learn and share with each other. We want everyone employed at Pomerleau to feel fully included, safe, and to have equal opportunities to achieve fulfillment and success. To ensure our Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) strategy is deployed, we established an advisory committee in 2023.
