Expansion Project

Aéroports de Montréal (ADM) entrusted us with Phase II of the 7,500 m2 expansion of Montréal-Trudeau Airport’s international jetty.

The work included the following elements:

  • Adding six boarding gates for wide-body aircraft (five Code E and one Code F) served by jetways.
  • Renovating the junction with existing boarding gates (to match the new gates).
  • Building boarding and retail spaces on the departure and arrival floors.
  • Building operational support spaces at deck level.
  • Building technical areas in the basement.
  • Completing the bus platforms.

For this project, our role as Construction Manager included these activities:

  • Actively participating in finalizing the design activities.
  • Advising ADM and professionals on market conditions and constructability.
  • Proposing the best ways to use the site.
  • Estimating the time for each construction activity.
  • Determining the optimal work package breakdown based on all market, cost-efficiency and scheduling metrics.
  • Coordinating and supervising the work to complete the building on budget and on time.
  • Coordinating commissioning activities.

Despite strict construction and management requirements during the project, we completed the mandate successfully, meeting the client's expectations.

Our Challenges

Tight Project Control

We carried out the construction without disrupting any Aéroports de Montréal (ADM) operations —in compliance with strict health, safety and access management procedures.

Parallel Projects

At the phasing plan and scheduling stage, we factored ongoing civil and fuel line work into the project equation.
