Maple & Mindfulness: Pomerleau’s Dedication to Health and Safety

Maple syrup bottles

Breakfast just got sweeter. We are celebrating our 40th maple syrup anniversary

A tradition, which was born in Beauce, Quebec, sees the distribution of thousands of bottles of maple syrup to employees, key clients and business partners each year.

When Pomerleau founder Hervé Pomerleau, who grew up on a sugar bush, bought his own, he never imagined how impactful the tradition he established would become.

Once the tradition took off, we began to work with Erabeauce Maple Sugar Shack, who still supply our liquid gold today.

Over the years, we have gifted our maple syrup in connection to several themes and causes that are close to our hearts, including our value of love, Indigenous relations, and mental and physical well-being

For our 2024 distribution, we have chosen to focus on health and safety. The importance of health and safety on our worksites and in our offices cannot be understated. That’s why it is now a priority in our Environment, Social and Governance (ESG) strategy, as it impacts everything we do.

Our mantra, People Above All, reflects our dedication to ensuring our employees always return home safely to their families.

Health and safety are at the heart of our culture and are supported by our value of love. Beyond statistics and pride in the projects we build, it's all about people. I'm proud that our annual syrup campaign highlights the importance of taking care of our people, and the daily work our people do to make our sites safe.

When the sweet maple sap grazes (or douses) our employees’ families’ fluffy pancakes, we hope it reminds them of the efforts their loved ones take to ensure they are at Sunday breakfast every week.
