Pomerleau’s focus on innovation and its efforts to support the physical and mental health of its employees were some of the main reasons the company was selected.
MONTREAL - For the second year in a row, Pomerleau was selected by Canada’s Top 100 Employers as one of the best employers in the country. This recognition is given to Canadian companies that provide an exceptional work environment for their employees.
Receiving this title for a second consecutive year is not only an honour, but it also validates that we have remained authentic and true to our values. We are proud that our desire for excellence and innovation has been recognized again.
Innovation through strength in numbers
It quickly became clear to the selection committee that our company’s innovative force is not dependent on just one person but is fuelled by each and every one of our employees. At Pomerleau, new ideas and innovative proposals are encouraged to allow for continuous improvement.
An employee’s development involves more than just their career; personal growth is just as important. Held virtually this year, the Pomerleau Challenge, which encourages physical activities in addition to yoga and reading, is a concrete way for each employee to realize their full potential.
We celebrated our employees’ high participation in the Pomerleau Challenge by making a $600,000 donation to organizations working in the field of health care and medical research, as well as food aid. In addition, Pomerleau committed to planting 1,875 trees planted in exchange for the participation points earned in the most recent challenge.
When I joined Pomerleau, I immediately saw that our corporate values were truly valued and upheld. Far from being a slogan or a form of marketing, our values are an integral part of our culture. We are a big company with several thousand employees, but we foster a culture of love and a sense of being a family that sets us apart.
About Canada’s Top 100 Employers 2022
Now in its 22nd year, Canada’s Top 100 Employers is an editorial competition that recognizes employers with outstanding human resource programs and forward-thinking workplace policies. Employer applications are evaluated against eight criteria, which have remained the same since the competition was first held:
The competition’s organizers publish a detailed explanation of why each company was chosen, ensuring transparency in the selection of the recipients, and creating a catalogue of best practices for employers and job seekers.
