Imagine an ultramodern hospital with a surface area rivaling that of the main building at Place Ville-Marie. The Vaudreuil-Soulanges Hospital is one of the largest construction projects in Canada. This ambitious undertaking addresses the growing needs of the population and embodies our commitment to innovation, sustainability, and collaboration.
Pomerleau, the prime contractor for this project, is responsible for the hospital’s design and construction. Our mission? To plan, coordinate, and execute the work while adhering to the most stringent quality and safety standards. Pomerleau oversees every stage, orchestrating the efforts of various partners and subcontractors to ensure the project’s success.
The project aims to achieve LEED v4 certification in Healthcare, with an emphasis on sustainable, environmentally-friendly materials. Waste management programs reduce environmental impact, and gardens and green spaces promote biodiversity. Inside, materials with low volatile organic compound (VOC) emissions improve air quality. Finally, charging stations for electric vehicles encourage greener modes of transport.
Innovation is at the heart of this project. Building information modeling (BIM) makes project planning and management more efficient. 3D printing increases precision and durability. Augmented reality (AR) facilitates on-site coordination, and intelligent management systems (BMS) optimize energy efficiency and occupant comfort. The project rests on a solid foundation, with more than 540 piles ensuring the structure's stability and durability. These piles support the heavy loads of the hospital, guaranteeing a solid, long-lasting construction.
