Construction Management

We were awarded the construction management mandate to erect a new building at the École de technologie supérieure (ÉTS) in Montreal. This five-storey building is located south of the school’s student residence, Maison des étudiants, in a square formed by Notre-Dame, Eleanor, William and Murray streets.

The approximately 16,000 m2 pavilion, perfectly complements the Maison des étudiants, offering a harmonious approach to the campus development.

The building primarily houses the following facilities:

  • High-performance computing centre.
  • Nearly 30 classrooms.
  • Student clubs and their workshops.
  • Learning and recreation area.
  • Loading and unloading dock.
  • A park that merges Maison des étudiants with this project.
  • Underground link to Maison des étudiants.

Despite a tight schedule, a very busy construction site and advanced dust and noise control, we completed the mandate on time—in compliance with the client's requirements.

Our Challenges

Tight Schedule

We fast-tracked the mandate to meet the tight timeline, which was critical for obtaining funding.

Dust and Noise Control

We implemented measures to effectively control dust, noise and any other factors with negative impacts on users of the institution and the surrounding facilities.

High-Traffic Area

The site, which is surrounded by busy thoroughfares and other construction sites, is in the middle of the ÉTS campus. For this reason, we managed traffic, municipal services, deliveries and safety very carefully.
