Executive Vice-President – APEX
Pierre Lafond is Pomerleau's Executive Vice-President for its Alternative Projects and Technical Center of Expertise (APEX).
Since joining Pomerleau in 2016, Pierre has developed and grown the entire APEX team. He has been a member of the Executive Committee since 2021.
Pierre's efforts to align our ambitions regarding major projects have borne fruit, notably through the awarding of projects such as the Champlain Bridge deconstruction, the Réseau Express Métropolitain (REM), the refurbishment of the Louis-Hippolyte-La Fontaine Tunnel, and the roof of Olympic Stadium. He is also responsible for the development phases of the Contrecoeur Terminal Expansion project and the Weeneebayko Area Health Authority (WAHA) project.
Prior to working at Pomerleau, Pierre worked with Aecon for close to 20 years, where he last held the position as Vice-President Estimating/Development, for its civil division. Over the span of his 30-year career, he has worked on major infrastructure projects in the transportation, hydroelectricity, mining, marine and petroleum industries and completed key underground, tunnel and bridge works. Several of these projects were carried out in alternative modes.
Pierre first studied Forest Engineering at Université Laval in Quebec City, before earning his Bachelor of Civil Engineering at the Polytechnique in Montreal in 1987. He has been a member of the Quebec Order of Engineers since 1990.
He is a member of the Board of Directors of the Infrastructure Council, a group of businesses and organizations working to carry out large-scale projects in Quebec, Canada and internationally.
