It’s a go for the construction of the Vaudreuil-Soulanges Hospital. The Société Québécoise des Infrastructures (SQI) has allocated the important mandate to Pomerleau who, jointly with the Centre Intégré de Santé et de Services Sociaux de la Montérégie-Ouest (CISSSMO), has mobilised its forces to undertake this major project.
Once completed, the new health centre, which will be located at the intersection of Harwood Rd and Cité-des-Jeunes Bd, will have 132 340 m2 of floor space over two wings. It will contribute to shaping the future of health care services in the Montérégie West region.
A project office has been set up to bring together under one roof the multidisciplinary team made up of the best experts in architecture, structure, electromechanics, foundations, and civil engineering. The health centre will meet all globally recognized functional standards and requirements and its environment will be warm and bright with numerous green spaces and resting areas for staff, patients, and their families.
With the competence and know-how, we acquired on such large health centre projects as the CHUM Research Centre (CR-CHUM), the CHUM Phase 2 and the Enfant-Jésus Hospital in Quebec City, we are now able to propose a sustainable project that will fulfill the needs of the population for the long term.
All the partners on this project are driven by a genuine spirit of collaboration and everyone is fully committed to the success of this endeavour.
Together with our partners, suppliers and the more than 1,000 workers at the height of the construction phase, we will use the most advanced construction methods, such as Building Information Modeling (BIM). This engineering approach creates a 3D digital representation of the building and its components which integrates multidisciplinary data to help experts in their cooperative decision-making.
Special attention will be paid to the efficient and rational use of energy, materials, and water to qualify for the LEED certification of the project. The building will be characterized by its energy efficiency, its modernity and human scale.
