Environmental, social, and governance performance, according to Pomerleau.

Our ESG strategy

Integrating environmental, social, and governance (ESG) criteria into all of our practices is essential to help our industry move in the right direction, in collaboration with our clients and partners.

That's why we put our collective intelligence to work and developed an ESG strategy that has six main priorities within four overarching themes.

ESG Strategy

Our main targets

Our targets represent concrete objectives that we have set out to accomplish within a specific timeframe. Discover them all by reading the complete report.

Our targets

Increase by 30% the number of building projects seeking green certification, compared with 2021 levels.

2030

Transition to a net-zero world by targeting a 40% reduction in Scope 1 and Scope 2 GHG emissions, using 2021 as the base year.

2025

Electrify at least 75% of our site vehicles.

2025

Offer the traceability of residual materials to our clients across all our projects, and adopt a target for the reduction and diversion of residual materials from landfills.

Our 6 Priorities

TRANSFORM OUR PRACTICES TO ELEVATE THE CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY

Through innovation, the construction industry could build more efficiently and generate more sustainable, safer, and higher quality projects. Our vision of innovation is rooted in a desire to help our industry evolve with the help of our partners and clients, in order to raise standards for the benefit of the entire population. Three ambitions act as stepping-stones for this strategy:

→ Innovate to improve our industry

→ Accelerate the digitization of our practices

→ Collaborate with all industry players to join forces and bring about change

ASSESS A PROJECT'S VALUE THROUGH ITS CARBON FOOTPRINT

We let science be our guiding light to significantly reduce our own emissions (scopes 1 and 2) and transform our value chain (scope 3) to contribute to a Net Zero world. We can therefore better structure our approach and prioritize the actions that will generate the most impact. This strategy is composed of three ambitions:

→ Decarbonize our operations by reducing our GHG emissions

→ Enable our partners and clients to transition to a low-carbon economy

→ Accelerate the transition by going beyond demand and increasing carbon sinks

MAXIMIZE THE LIFESPAN OF GOODS AND MATERIALS

To encourage the circularity of goods and materials, our strategy relies on reducing our resource consumption and protecting the ecosystems that generate them, as well as reusing, recycling, or reconsidering the value of existing materials. To ensure that our strategy is reflected throughout our value chain, we focus on two ambitions:

→ Account for residual materials to better manage them

→ Integrate circular economy principles into our procurement processes

MEASURE SUCCESS THROUGH THE LENS OF COLLECTIVE PROSPERITY

We are passionate about making a difference in the lives of the people we serve across Canada: giving ease and confort to our communities, making them more inclusive and fair. Our strategy to enrich our social impact with communities is based on three main goals:

→ Deepen ties with the communities where our projects take place

→ Support communities through strategic donations and sponsorships

→ Identify and maximize our projects' social impact

MAKE INDIGENOUS PEOPLES OUR BUSINESS PARTNERS

In hopes of contribution to reconciliation, we recognize the importance of fostering self-determination, namely socio-economic self-determination, for Indigenous peoples. In 2021, we adopted a strategy to cultivate intentional, respectful, and responsive business relations with Indigenous peoples. In doing so, we followed a guiding ambition:

→ To establish an engagement policy and a concrete action plan to help maximize the participation of Indigenous peoples in our various projects

FOSTER BUSINESS GROWTH BY UPLIFTING OUR PEOPLE

We have always been committed to creating a work environment that enables our teams to reach their full potential. To offer everyone an equal chance to progress and in hopes that all of our stakeholders recognize themselves in our way of doing things, we have adopted a strategy that evolves around a guiding ambition:

→ Promote diversity, equity, and inclusion, focusing first and foremost on respect
