In 2020, Ian’s role expanded to include leading our Canadian Building Operations (CBO) while maintaining his responsibilities for strategic initiatives. Prior to that, as Executive VP Strategic Initiatives, he steered Pomerleau’s modernization and transformation efforts by focusing on our innovation and sustainability positioning in the market as well as our operational excellence program, FOX. In this role, he was responsible for positioning Pomerleau as the leader in the transformation of the Canadian construction industry and oversaw the planning and implementation of strategic initiatives and performance indicators across all our business units to maximize collaboration, excellence operational and innovation.

Since he began working with us in 2001, Ian has held various positions and has been involved in the delivery of many major projects in the commercial sectors as well as in the airport, industrial, hotel and residential sectors. More recently, he led many innovation-driven projects which have significantly contributed to maintaining Pomerleau at the cutting edge of technology in construction.

Ian graduated with a Bachelor of Construction Engineering from Montreal’s ÉTS (École de technologie supérieure) in 2001. In 2019, he completed the Real Estate Management Program and prior to that the General Management Program both from Harvard Business School. He has been a member of the Quebec Order of Engineers since 2001.

Involved in numerous non-profit organizations, Ian recently was the co-chair of the 2020 campaign of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Canada. He is also a member of the board of directors for Centraide Montreal and the Factry.
