A Pomerleau-sponsored expedition for young adults in remission from cancer

Last September, 322 Pomerleau employees took on a two-fold athletic challenge, namely to participate in the 2017 Pomerleau Challenge and raise money for two charities: the Canadian Red Cross and On the Tip of the Toes Foundation.

Pomerleau is proud to announce today that the funds raised for On the Tip of the Toes Foundation have had a direct impact. Thanks to the company's fundraising efforts, 13 teenagers are participating in a grand winter expedition at no cost to them. Aged between 14 and 18, the participants come from all over the country and are currently in remission from cancer.

In recognition of the fundraising efforts of the Pomerleau Challenge participants and their network, the Foundation decided to name Pomerleau as the official partner of the expedition.

During the six-day adventure, which began on Saturday, March 3, 2018, these 13 young people will explore Ontario's Algonquin Park by dog sled. The expedition will provide them the opportunity to go outside their comfort zone, and to readily share the difficulties, suffering, and anxiety of dealing with cancer with other participants who are the same age and living similar realities.

You can follow their daily trip diary and photos of the expedition on the Foundation's blog and/or on facebook.com/FondationSurLaPointeDesPieds.

Congratulations and thank you to all of you who made this expedition possible either through your fundraising efforts or donations!
