This year's goal is to raise over $250,000 to replace the aging incubators in the IWK Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. Currently, newborns are put through immense stress when they are required to be moved to a warming device. The new incubators allow newborns to be warm and comfortable thanks to an overhead heater, which can be raised at anytime. Not only is this beneficial for the newborns, but it also assists hospital staff in responding more rapidly to emergency situations.
Every year, CTV, also a sponsor of the Great Big Dig, pays a visit to all sponsors to film a video about sponsorship engagement that is shown at the gala. On Friday, August 4, CTV's Liz Rigney came to our Halifax office to interview Lorin Robar, Project Director, regarding Pomerleau's involvement in IWK initiatives.
Said Lorin of the Halifax office's continued support of the hospital: "I strongly believe in the work that IWK does for new born babies—and I am particularly proud that Pomerleau is a significant sponsor of the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. All babies should have a chance."
This year’s event promises to carry on the tradition of success and generosity featuring an array of fun for guests including dinner, entertainment by East Coast musical stars Port Cities and Signal Hill, a silent auction, and an after party.
